Simple Simon met a pie-man
Going to the fair.
Said Simple Simon to the
pie-man,
"Let me taste your ware."
Said the pie-man to Simple Simon,
"Show me first your penny."
Said
Simple Simon to the pie-man,
"Indeed, I have not any."
Simple Simon went a-fishing
For to catch a whale,
And all the water
that he had
Was in his mother's pail!
Simple Simon went to see
If plums grew on a thistle.
He pricked his
thumb very much
Which made poor Simon whistle.
He went for water with a sieve,
But soon it ran all fell through;
And now
poor Simple Simon
Bids you all adieu.

お祭りに行く道すがら
まぬけなサイモン パイ屋に言った
味見させてよ パイをひと皿
まぬけなサイモンにパイ屋が言った
最初に見せな あんたのお金
まぬけなサイモン パイ屋に言った
一文だってあるもんかね
まぬけなサイモン 魚つりに行った
鯨を一頭つかまえたいと
サイモンの海は母さんのバケツ
それでバケツにたらすつり糸
まぬけなサイモン眺めに行った
あざみにすももが実るのを
サイモン指にとげ刺して
ヒイヒイヒイと鳴らしたのどを
まぬけなサイモン ざるで水くみ
もちろん水はザバザバザバ
これであわれなサイモンと
お別れするよ おさらばおさらば
